Jazz Inspirations
THE SEARCH
One of my biggest inspirations for jazz is Miles Davis. I have always loved the way he articulates a passage or interpret a whole song. His style is unlike others, and I aspire to be as great as him. Another one of my favorites would have to be Clifford Brown. For me, Clifford Brown has been my favorite bebop style trumpet player. The way he navigated through the chord changes, performed at such a high intensity with every song whether it was slow or fast, really sparked my interest. Among these two are many other like Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard, Louis Armstrong, and Arturo Sandoval. Although I listen to mostly trumpet players, I have always had a profound interest in Charlie Parker. Arguably the greatest jazz saxophonist to ever perform. He is my main inspiration for my bebop style, and also why I started playing the saxophone.
